The Life and Ministry of C H Spurgeon

A day conference with Union School of Theology
      • Venue: Auditorium
      • Speakers: Lou and Nathan Fellingham, Michael Reeves & Glen Scrivener

Charles Spurgeon (1834-1892) was a famous London based Reformed Baptist preacher whose warm, earthy sermons touched the lives of tens of thousands of people. He was known as the “Prince of Preachers” and his sermons were published across the globe and are still read and enjoyed today. He was a prolific author, publishing devotionals, magazines, commentaries and lectures most of which are still in print today. He trained hundreds of men for ministry, deploying them to plant churches right across the UK (including Worthing Tabernacle). Despite his huge success and popularity, he struggled with severe bouts of depression and had a chronic respiratory illness.

Although Spurgeon served in a very different era to ours, his methods and influence are still of great value to the church today. Our speakers will give insight into his life, his struggles, his evangelistic preaching, training and church planting and how his faith in Christ sustained him through his many difficulties.

There is a small charge for the day conference of £10 to help cover costs. Please book online here
